CNAS definition
CNAS is the abbreviation of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, a national institution approved and authorized by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration, which is responsible for the accreditation and evaluation of conformity assessment bodies such as certification bodies, laboratories, inspection bodies, and review and verification bodies.

Main responsibilities of CNAS
1. Accreditation and evaluation: Accreditation and evaluation of certification bodies, laboratories, inspection bodies, etc. to ensure that they have specific technical and management capabilities.

2. International mutual recognition system: CNAS's accreditation criteria adopt corresponding international standards, its operating mechanism complies with relevant international requirements, and it actively participates in the international mutual recognition system.

3. Promote the construction of conformity assessment bodies: Through accreditation work, promote conformity assessment bodies to follow relevant standards and specifications to ensure that they can provide high-quality services to the society with a fair attitude, scientific methods and accurate results.

Organizational structure of CNAS
Plenary Committee: It is composed of representatives from government departments, conformity assessment bodies, conformity assessment users, and relevant professional institutions and technical experts related to accreditation work.

Executive Committee: It is composed of the director, executive deputy director, deputy director and secretary general of the plenary committee.

Special committees: including certification body technical committee, laboratory technical committee, inspection agency technical committee, assessment committee and end-user committee, etc.
