GB18401 2010 Definition
GB18401 2010 is the full name of "National Basic Safety Technical Specifications for Textile Products". It is an important national standard in China, which aims to regulate the basic safety of textile products. The standard is jointly issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standardization Administration. It is applicable to clothing, decorative and household textile products produced and sold in China.

GB 18401-2010 standard covers multiple safety indicators of textiles, including:
Formaldehyde content: must be ≤75mg/kg to ensure that the clothes are safe and harmless
pH value: must be between 4.0-8.5 to maintain the acid-base balance of the clothes
Banned azo dyes: limit value ≤20mg/kg to avoid the release of harmful substances
Odor: must be odorless to ensure comfortable wearing
Color fastness: water resistance, sweat resistance, and dry friction color fastness must reach level 3 or above

Scope of application of GB 18401-2010 standard
Class A: Infant and young children's products, such as diapers, bibs, pajamas, gloves, socks, and bedding, which are in direct contact with infants' skin and have extremely high safety requirements.

Class B: Products that are in direct contact with the skin, such as underwear, pants, socks, sheets, quilt covers, towels, swimsuits and hats, etc.

Class C: Products that are not in direct contact with the skin, such as outerwear, pants, curtains, bedspreads and wall coverings, etc.
