ISO 17020 is a standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Its full name is "General Requirements for the Competence of Various Inspection Bodies". This standard is mainly used to regulate and evaluate the operation of inspection bodies to ensure that inspection bodies can conduct inspections in a fair and professional manner.

Scope of application of ISO 17020
ISO 17020 applies to various types of inspection bodies, including but not limited to product inspections, process inspections, facility inspections, etc. For example, an organization that inspects the quality of industrial products can establish and operate a quality management system based on ISO 17020; in the field of facility inspections, organizations that inspect building safety facilities also need to follow this standard.

Requirements of ISO 17020
Impartiality and independence: Inspection bodies must be independent of the commercial and other interests related to the objects being inspected.
Confidentiality: Protect all information involved in the inspection process from being leaked.
Organization and management: Including the organizational structure of the inspection body, the formulation of quality policies and objectives, and document control.
Personnel, facilities and equipment: Inspectors are required to have corresponding professional knowledge, skills and experience, and facilities and equipment must meet the inspection requirements.
